Senators unveil bipartisan gun deal

WASHINGTON D.C. (ADAMS) – A bipartisan group of senators has crafted a plan to reduce gun violence. The agreement includes enhanced review for gun buyers under the age of 21 and incentives for states to enact “red flag” laws.

Senator Chris Murphy took to Twitter Sunday to lay out other provisions of the deal, including billions in funding for mental health and school safety, as well as the first-ever federal law against gun trafficking. The breakthrough agreement was a collaborative effort and was quickly praised by President Biden.

The bipartisan group was made up of 10 Republican and 10 Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Murphy from Connecticut says you might be surprised by the scope.
