FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Magistrate Lori K. Morgan and the Allen Superior Court-Family Relations Division, Department of Child Services, Allen County Guardian Ad Litems, Allen County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), hosted the First Annual Allen County All Stars Career Day at the Boys and Girls Club located at 2609 Fairfield Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Saturday.
The purpose of the event was to introduce children in the 7th through the 9th grades to adults working in a variety of occupations and thus inspire them to begin thinking and planning for their futures.
Magistrate Morgan believes that “if young people have a chance to see people who are just like them in careers that they are interested in, they will be inspired to set goals for themselves and achieve their dreams.”
In support of this belief, the Anthis Career Center, as well as professionals from the fields of medicine, law enforcement, education, real estate, cosmetology and more will be on hand to offer motivation and advice to the young people as they begin considering their career paths.
The All-Star Committee facilitated the event. The group included children in the program who might not otherwise have had the opportunity to participate. These children include children who have been adjudicated to be Children in Need of Services and children who are served by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne.
