FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The National Weather Service says a derecho cut across the area Monday night.
A derecho is a collection of severe storms moving together that can cause significant straight-line wind damage.
Forecasters say Fort Wayne was hit with 100-mile-per-hour winds. The storms knocked down trees and knocked out power across northeast Indiana.
