Man suffers critical injuries in shooting early Monday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say that a man is fighting for his life after being shot early Monday morning.

Officers were called to Reed Road close to Lake Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. to find the man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Police say he was not able to give them any information before being taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers are looking for any potential witnesses or surveillance footage. They are asking anyone with information to come forward.

FWPD officials released the following:
On Monday, 08/15/2022, at approximately 1:27 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Reed Rd regarding a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene to find an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported as being in life- threatening condition. The victim could not provide any information as to who shot him. Investigators are canvasing the area for any potential witnesses or evidence.
