Fort Wayne turns down electric charging station money

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne is turning down a grant that would have meant more charging stations for electric cars in the city.

The city council last night voted against a $90,000 grant from Volkswagen to add 27 charging stations around Fort Wayne.

The problem is the cost. Fort Wayne would have had to kick in $250,000 to use the grant money. Fort Wayne already has 40 electric charging stations around the city.
