FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The City says that residents are reporting a man pretending to be a local government worker.
The mayor’s office put out a statement saying the calls are coming from a 260 number with someone claiming to be with 311 about trash collection concerns while using foul language.
The City says that if you get one of these calls you should ignore it.
The following statement was released:
We’d like to alert the media and public that someone has been calling several residents in Fort Wayne using a 260-427-8311 number indicating he is from the City of Fort Wayne’s 311 call center regarding garbage collection concerns. We’ve also had reports that the person calling has been using inappropriate language. Residents should ignore these calls. The City’s 311 call center staff is not calling residents in this manner and is busy at work taking phone calls from the public to address daily concerns that come into the City to help meet the needs of the community.
