City denies responsibility for protester who lost eye

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The city of Fort Wayne says a protester who lost an eye at this summer’s protests has no one to blame but himself.
The city responded to 21-year-old Balin Brake’s lawsuit yesterday. Brake says Fort Wayne Police hit him in the face with a tear gas canister, eventually costing him his eye.

Fort Wayne’s lawyers say Brake is to blame for not abiding by a police order to disperse and for running towards police who were trying to control a crowd in late May.
