Charges for Fort Wayne mother in children’s overdoses

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A Fort Wayne mother is looking at charges after police say her children took some of her pills that contain fentanyl.

Prosecutors yesterday filed child neglect and drug charges against 22-year-old Kiara Johnson. Her two-year-old son, Terris, died.

The coroner says an official cause of death is pending but says it looks like an overdose. One of Johnson’s other children survived.

Fort Wayne police say Johnson admitted to taking the pills and said at the time that the kids must have found them in her room.
