COLUMBUS, Ohio (ADAMS) – A bill allowing Attorney General Dave Yost to prosecute unauthorized robocalls is heading to Governor’s DeWine’s desk for his signature.
On Wednesday, the Ohio Senate approved Senate Bill 54 by a vote of 77-2.
If signed into law, the bill will empower state authorities to go after illegal robocalls with the intent to defraud, cause harm, and wrongfully obtain anything of value.
Yost has also sent a letter to FCC asking to reduce robocallers access to buying and spoofing legitimate phone numbers.
