State Police investigating Saturday shooting on I-70

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana State Police are looking for answers after someone opened fire on I-70 in Indianapolis over the weekend.

Troopers were called to the area of I-70 and Keystone Avenue Saturday morning just after 4:00 a.m., for reports of a person shot. The victim of the shooting, who was driving along I-70 when her vehicle was shot at, had driven off the interstate to contact police.

She was struck by a bullet in the upper leg however the injury is believed to be non-life threatening.

Detectives spent the day following leads which eventually led them to serve two search warrants. The State Police Central SWAT team assisted with those warrants.

There have not been any arrests made in connection to this shooting, however, investigators do not believe this was a random act.
