Northern Indiana man wins Hoosier Lottery $1 million drawing

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) — A northern Indiana man won the Hoosier Lottery $1,000,000 Blowout 2nd Chance Promotion drawing at the Indiana State Fair.

Ethan McKinney of Mishawaka is the Hoosier Lottery’s latest $1,000,000 Blowout 2nd Chance Promotion winner. He, like the other finalists in the drawing, Andrenette Lee Montgomery, Matthew Gibbons, Brian Geiger and Nicholas Mascari entered their non-winning $1,000,000 Blowout Scratch-offs at for a 2nd Chance at one million dollars. Each of the finalists’ names were drawn on July 3, 2019 to win $500 and an entry into the $1,000,000 Blowout 2nd Chance Promotion drawing. The $1,000,000 Blowout 2nd Chance Promotion drawing took place on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019 in Hoosier Lottery Town at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Ethan was represented by Miss Indiana State Fair, Halle Shoults.

Ethan joins Rita Grut of Lanesville and Anthony Rose of Nappanee as the latest $1,000,000 Blowout 2nd Chance Promotion winner. Even though he wasn’t present for the drawing, Ethan viewed the drawing through the Hoosier Lottery’s Facebook live stream. Ethan was away at a conference for work and could not attend the drawing. “I started to watch the drawing and felt like I was being rude to everyone around me,” said Ethan. “My wife, Jennifer, texted me and told me that I needed to watch.” Jennifer added, “We never thought something like this would happen to us.”
Ethan, who was overseeing the conference he was attending, realized he had just won a million dollars and then had to gather himself to introduce the keynote speaker at the conference. “In that moment, I really had to focus on what I was doing,” stated a smiling Ethan.
