Indiana’s surplus being turned into tax credits

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana is giving people some of their money back.

Last week, State Auditor Tera Klutz announced the state is going to send about $500 million dollars back to taxpayers through refundable tax credits.

People who filed their taxes as individuals will get about $170, and couples who filed together will get $340.

Lawmakers say the tax refunds are possible because Indiana ended its budget year with nearly $4 billion dollars in reserves.
