Indiana’s coronavirus hospitalizations mainly among older people

The Indiana State Department of Health

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Most of the people in Indiana who are being sent to the hospital because of coronavirus are over 60.

The state Department of Health yesterday said 70% of the 100-or-so people-a-day who are being hospitalized are 60-plus, and many of them are living in long-term care facilities.

The state says nearly 1,7000 people are in the hospital because of the virus.

That is the highest that it’s been since the coronavirus outbreak started back in the spring.
