National average gas price closing in on $5 a gallon

UPDATE (June 8, 2022):

(ADAMS) – Every day marks a new record for gas prices and the national average is closing in on five dollars a gallon.

The national average price for regular rose another nickel today, to $4.9 a gallon.

The statewide average is now $5.00 a gallon or higher in 13 states, including California where drivers are paying an average of $6.37. Gas is up to $4.33 a gallon in Georgia but that’s still the lowest price in the country.

UPDATE (June 7, 2022):

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Another day, another spike in gas prices in Indiana. AAA says the average price for a gallon of regular in the state is now just over $5.00 per gallon.

That’s a penny higher than on Sunday, 41 cents higher than last week, and 80 cents higher than last month.

AAA says the average price for a gallon of diesel in Indiana is $5.66 per gallon.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The statewide average isn’t quite $5.00 a gallon, but it’s close.

AAA says the average gas price for a gallon of regular gas in Indiana is $4.99 per gallon, though drivers in many places are paying more than five bucks.

$4.99 is three cents higher than yesterday, 41 cents higher than last week, and 82 cents higher than last month.  AAA says the average price for a gallon of diesel in Indiana is $5.64.
