‘American Taliban’ suspect to be released from Terre Haute prison

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The man known as the American Taliban will start his journey to freedom in Terre Haute. Federal prison officials say John Walker Lindh will be released from the prison in Terre Haute tomorrow.

U.S. Forces captured Lindh in Afghanistan after the attack on September 11th. He pleaded guilty in 2002 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Lindh will have to serve three years of probation after his release.
