CINCINNATI, Ohio (ADAMS) – Your next trip to Kroger will not end with a pocket full of nickels, quarters and dimes.
Kroger last week announced it will no longer give coins as change to people who pay with cash. Instead, you’ll be asked to either round-up for a cause or what you would have gotten back in coins will be applied to your loyalty card and automatically used on your next purchase.
Kroger says a national coin shortage is forcing the move. The U.S. Treasury says the coronavirus has left them without enough coins.
