Take a look: The 122FW flyover salute to front line workers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The 122nd Fighter Wing conducted a series of #AirForceSalutes flyovers in major cities around Indiana, including Fort Wayne to demonstrate the Air National Guard’s continued readiness during the national COVID-19 response while saluting the American heroes at the forefront in the fight against COVID-19.

“Defending the homeland has taken a new shape, and the 122nd Fighter Wing is proud to serve alongside the first responders and essential personnel in the COVID-19 response efforts,” read a press release from the 122nd.

Air Force Salutes flyovers are a way for the Air National Guard to show appreciation to the thousands of heroes at the front line of battling COVID-19.

The flyovers are also intended to lift morale in cities across America due to the severe health and economic impacts that have resulted from COVID-19.

Here in Fort Wayne, they were also held.
They started at Lutheran Hospital around 11 a.m., before heading downtown then north to DuPont and Parkview. The flyover ended after passing back over downtown.
