FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department says a fire broke out at BakerStreet on N. Clinton St. Monday night.
A call came in around 9:15 p.m. Firefighters discovered the flames in the kitchen hood ventilation system and quickly brought it under control within 15 minutes.
The restaurant was already closed and all 20 employees had safely evacuated before emergency crews arrived.
The building sustained minor damage from fire, smoke, and water. Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code and the Allen County Board of Health were also on site.
A post on BakerStreet’s Facebook page explained that the fire was caused by a faulty wire in the hood fan motor. The restaurant reported that there appeared to be no major damage and hoped to reopen for dinner on Tuesday evening.
