FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry has made history by winning his fifth term. He has been the city’s mayor since 2007 and had announced he wouldn’t run for a fifth term before changing his mind.
Henry said the city sent “a clear message the momentum in every corner of our city is not yet finished.” Longtime City Councilman Tom Didier conceded and congratulated Henry Tuesday night.
Republicans picked up a seat on Fort Wayne City Council. Scott Myers was elected to represent District 4.

A Fort Wayne Community Schools safety initiative that was on yesterday’s ballot was approved by voters with 53% supporting the measure. According to FWCS, the approved funding would add security enhancements, including a weapons detection system and other advanced security technology. It is estimated to cost homeowners about $6 a month on average.
